On Saturday, November 15, the Chișinău City Hall presented the two-year activity report marking the midpoint of Mayor Ion Ceban’s second mandate.
During the event, completed projects, ongoing works, and development plans were highlighted. The Mayor thanked the citizens, colleagues, and experts involved, presenting the key results:
1. Investments and major projects
Investment portfolio of 4.5 billion lei through EU financial instruments.
Projects include: extension of Mircea cel Bătrân Blvd., Mesager and Industriala streets, rehabilitation of the Bîc River, thermal insulation for 50 kindergartens, new waste sorting station and conservation of the unauthorized Ciocana landfill.
2. Roads, sidewalks and courtyard improvements
350 km of roads and 400 km of sidewalks built or rehabilitated.
Over 100 residential courtyards modernized and 53 access routes to schools improved.
190 playgrounds and sports zones installed.
Repairs carried out at 200 buildings: elevators, roofs, windows and internal engineering networks.
3. Modern public transport
81 new trolleybuses purchased in the last two years.
367 trolleybuses and buses in total purchased in recent years.
500 public transport stations modernized.
4. Parks and green areas
Around 40 parks and small green squares rehabilitated.
Next major project: renovation of the “Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt” Public Garden.
5. Education
112 educational institutions repaired.
231 pavilions in kindergartens and 46 school canteens renovated.
15 sports fields and 22 sports halls built or modernized.
Free transport for pupils in grades 1–4 and free extended-hours programs.
6. Youth and adult education
Modernization of the 5 Youth Centers.
Launch of the first Business Incubator for Youth.
Opening of the first Municipal Learning Center for Adults.
7. Social assistance
Over 100 social services provided, 30 of them unique in Moldova.
Around 380,000 beneficiaries annually.
60% of the municipal budget allocated to education, health and social protection.
8. Healthcare
Continuous investments in the modernization of municipal hospitals and medical infrastructure.
