The AGORA project “Advanced coGeneration Options for Reintegrating local Assets”, financed from the funds of the European Union, is a project developed within the program “Interreg Danube Transnational Programme” and brought together more than 27 actors and official representatives of various partner organizations.
The general objective of the project called “Advanced co-generation options for the reintegration of local assets” – AGORA is to improve the capacity of public administrations at the local level and
regional to become more credible and active leaders of local regeneration by developing, testing and integrating new operational and policy tools for the re-evaluation of urban assets.
Under the coordination of the Municipality of Cluj-Napoca and by leveraging its experience in the recovery and use of abandoned land and buildings (developed in another project, Refill –
financed through the URBACT II program) and in participatory urban actions, AGORA will test and facilitate the adoption in partner cities of new innovative mediation tools between key actors at
urban level, to capitalize and reintegrate unused local assets (public and private buildings and land), connecting them with local and external economic opportunities. The duration of the project is 30 months, starting from July 1, 2020, and the total eligible budget of the project is 2,396,870.05 Euro.
The results of the projects aim to achieve:
- Better participatory governance strategies
- An innovative governance framework for evaluation, monitoring and benchmarking
- Co-creation, co-implementation and co-evaluation of public service design
- Transferability: AGORA Toolkit for Cities and Planners
- Mutual learning, knowledge transfer and processes – pilot
