In the third panel, the theme “IMPROVEMENT OF LIVING STANDARDS AND BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT THROUGH INNOVATIVE SMART SOLUTIONS” was discussed

  • Presentation of the “Start-up for Young People and Migrants” Program
  • Presentation of the “Chisinau – Smart City” Strategy

Mr. Roman VITIUC, head of the General Directorate of Economy, Trade and Tourism, presented the “Municipal Pilot Program: Start-up for young people and migrants” at the Economic Forum of the Municipality of Chisinau.

The municipality proposes to facilitate the access of young people and migrant workers to the necessary financial resources, who wish to establish or develop a business, by granting a non-refundable financial support in the maximum amount of 200,000 lei. Within the Program, support will be offered to young people who own a business and have made an investment from credit resources, by compensating the value of the interest paid for the last 24 months in a maximum amount of 100,000 lei. Beneficiaries of the program are: future young entrepreneurs, migrant workers, young investors, young refugees future entrepreneurs, aged between 18-40.

Priority Areas of the Program:

  • businesses that will carry out production activities or provide services
  • businesses that contain innovative activities or propose to implement technological and know-how transfer projects
  • businesses focused on the development of the following fields: information and communication technology industry, electromechanics, agri-food and HoReCa industry, light industry, creative industry, tourism, health and beauty, professional, scientific or technical activities, energy efficiency, agriculture

The “Chisinau – Smart City” strategy represents a strategic investment and an ambitious program for the city that aims to address public issues through ICT-based solutions, within partnerships with several stakeholders, based on the municipality.

Similarly, in the third panel, successful experiences were presented regarding the digitization of city traffic monitoring systems, the implementation of the City Card, the importance of the development of HUBs in cities, based on the experience of European cities.
