From 12 to 14 October 2026, Chisinau Municipality is hosting the 3rd Steering Committee Meeting of the SUSDEST-NET – Sustainable Destinations Black Sea Network project, funded by the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme.
The event brings together international partners from Greece, Bulgaria, the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Türkiye to exchange experience, discuss project progress and identify joint solutions for the sustainable development of tourism destinations across the Black Sea region.
An important objective for Chisinau Municipality is the development of the Sustainable Tourism Development Strategy for 2027–2032, involving local decision-makers and promoting initiatives that will contribute to making the city more attractive, resilient and sustainable.
The SUSDEST-NET project promotes sustainable tourism, the blue economy, the use of artificial intelligence and stronger cross-border cooperation among public authorities, development organisations and academic institutions.
The project runs from November 2025 to May 2028, with a total budget exceeding EUR 1.4 million, including more than EUR 1.27 million in European Union funding.
Through its participation in this international network, Chisinau strengthens its commitment to sustainable tourism development and to promoting the city as a competitive tourist destination in the region.
