A delegation from Chișinău City Hall, led by the capital’s Deputy Mayor, Olesea Pșenițchi, paid a working visit to Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The visit focused on opportunities to strengthen cooperation between the two capitals.
The programme included meetings with representatives of local public authorities, including the Akim of the Esil District, Darmeniyar Kydyrbek-uly, as well as discussions on economic development, external relations, and the promotion of cultural heritage and tourism.
Chișinău and Astana established cooperation relations in 2000, based on an agreement signed between Chișinău City Hall and the Akimat of Astana.
The discussions focused on revitalizing institutional dialogue, exchanging best practices between local public administrations, jointly promoting tourist and cultural attractions, and identifying new opportunities for collaboration through joint initiatives.
The delegation also visited several cultural centres in Astana to learn about local experience in preserving and promoting cultural heritage and developing tourism activities.
The visit marks an important step towards revitalizing relations between the two capitals and reaffirms Chișinău’s commitment to developing international partnerships for the benefit of local communities.
