Starting from 2015, S.A. “Apă-Canal Chişinău” implements the Priority Investment Program, with a financing of 56 million Euros (of which 13.63 million are non-refundable funds) from the loans of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank and the investment grant offered by to the Neighborhood Investment Facility of the European Union, under the guarantee of the Chisinau City Hall.
The basic objective of these investments is to modernize and increase the quality of the provision of water supply and sewerage services for the final consumer.
Thus, S.A. “Apă-Canal Chişinău” recorded the following results:
Completed projects:
• Modernization of the park of specialized mechanisms for interventions: vehicles for repair teams, excavators, hydraulic drains, etc.
• Equipping intervention teams with modern tools and equipment to detect and liquidate leaks.
• Modernization of drinking and waste water pumping stations.
• Installation of the monitoring, control and data acquisition system (SCADA).
• Rehabilitation of approx. 120 km of water supply networks and connections in the municipality of Chisinau, including in the localities of Tohatin, Durleşti, Vatra, Codru.
• Renovation of approx. 7 km of household fecaloid collectors, mainly located in the historic center of the town. Chisinau, such as: Bucuresti str., Columna str., Sfatul Ţarii str., Mitropolit Bănulescu-Bodoni str., Alexei Mateevici str., Nicolae Iorga str., etc.
Projects currently underway:
• Development and installation of the information management system (MIS), which aims to support management in making informed and strategic decisions.
• The rehabilitation of the wastewater treatment plant and the construction of the new sludge treatment line, which will allow the technological process of wastewater treatment to be more efficient and will ensure sludge treatment through anaerobic digestion.
The works are planned to be completed between August and September 2023.
