The General Directorate of Economy, Trade and Tourism presents the Analysis of the main socio-economic indicators of Chisinau compared to other regions of the Republic of Moldova, for the year 2022, based on statistical data.
Regional development in the Republic of Moldova aims to ensure a fair and uniform socio-economic progress in all development regions of the country in order to create favorable conditions for improving the quality of life of citizens, attracting investments and increasing the volume of industrial production, capitalizing on tourism potential and expansion of the entrepreneurial sphere at the regional level.
The examination of the economic situation of the development regions of the Republic of Moldova, in 2022, allows us to mention the following:
– the municipality of Chisinau represents the only region in the country with positive demographic dynamics, the number of the population with regular residence being increased by 1.9 thousand people compared to the previous year
– in the municipality of Chisinau, the average gross monthly salary (12,825.4 lei) exceeds by 22.8% the threshold of the average monthly salary for the country
– the volume of investments in immovable assets, in the municipality of Chisinau, was 23,761.7 million lei, which represents 64% of the total volume of investments in the country
– the industrial enterprises in the municipality of Chisinau manufactured 50.7% of the total production in the country, with a value of 43,366.1 million lei, increasing by 19.3% compared to 2021
– the sales revenue of economic agents in Chisinau amounted to 442.8 billion lei, holding 72.3% of the total sales revenue of economic agents in the Republic of Moldova
– the volume of goods transported by enterprises from Chisinau represents 36.2% (15,497.4 thousand tons) of the total for the country, and their distance (3,323.4 million tons – km) represents 51.1% of the total the course of goods transported in the Republic of Moldova
