This has been made possible through the expansion of water and sewage networks, including repair work and the activation of pumping and treatment stations.
The specialists at S.A. “Apă-Canal Chișinău” aim to connect the entire municipality to the water and sewage network, making this one of the provider’s top priorities. Projects are being implemented in all localities that are part of Chișinău Municipality. Diana Tacu, interim general director of S.A. “Apă-Canal Chișinău,” stated: “Through these projects, we aim to ensure decent living conditions for all residents of the municipality, which involves the construction of new water supply and sewage networks in all localities that are part of Chișinău Municipality.”
The last five years have been crucial for the municipal water and sewage system, during which numerous projects funded by Chișinău City Hall have been launched in suburbs such as Cricova, Bubuieci, Stăuceni, Tohatin, Cruzești, Budești, Ghidighici, Sîngera, Vadul lui Vodă, Vatra, Grătiești, Trușeni, and Condrița, with an estimated budget of approximately 60 million lei.
Significant projects carried out include:
- Expansion of the sewage network and construction of a pumping and treatment station in Cricova. This involves building the sewage network along Chișinăului, Mateevici, Veteranilor, Doina, Bucuria, Titov, Păcii, B. P. Hașdeu, Miorița, and 31 August 1989 streets.
- Construction of a 9 km sewage network in Bubuieci, benefiting over 1,000 households.
- Expansion of the water supply network in Ghidighici, including the construction of a 10 km aqueduct for nearly 7,800 beneficiaries. This includes building a pumping station and a distribution network along Ștefan cel Mare, B. Glavan, D. Cantemir, 9 Mai, Fundul Văii, Sărături, Frunze, Ponoare, P. Bulgaru, and Viilor streets.
- Construction of the sewage network in Ghidighici along D. Cantemir, Ștefan cel Mare, and Victoriei streets.
- Expansion of the sewage and water supply networks in Sîngera, connecting 500 households. The suburb saw the construction of 5 km of sewage network and two pumping stations. Additionally, a water supply system was built in the new Sîngera–Revaca area, benefiting over 320 houses.
- Construction of a sewage network with a pumping station in Trușeni, connecting hundreds of households.
- Construction of an aqueduct in Condrița, where wells were previously the only water source.
In the future, a regional project will be implemented for the construction of sewage networks with a pumping station for Tohatin, Budești, and Cruzești, with a total updated cost of 41 million lei. The project is supported by Chișinău City Hall, Tohatin City Hall, and national and international partners. So far, 50% of the project has been completed, with 25 million lei already invested, including 13 million from Chișinău City Hall and one million from Tohatin City Hall. Once completed, this project will provide quality services to over 15,000 beneficiaries.
Chișinău City Hall continuously supports the needs of suburban residents to ensure access to centralized water and sewage services.
