The General Directorate of Economy, Trade and Tourism presents the operational results of the socio-economic activity of Chișinău Municipality for the period January–June 2026.
Key developments
- The average gross monthly nominal wage amounted to 19,834 lei, increasing by 9.1%, or 1,647.3 lei, compared with the same period of 2025. It exceeded the national average monthly wage by 17.3%, which amounted to 16,895.7 lei.
- Investment in fixed assets amounted to 10,954.8 million lei, accounting for 66.7% of the total investment in fixed assets made in the country. Compared with January–June 2025, the indicator decreased by 0.5% in comparable prices.
- The total value of industrial production manufactured amounted to 20,091.8 million lei at current prices, representing an increase of 6.3%, or 1,192.5 million lei, compared with the same period of the previous year.
- The volume of goods transported by road transport enterprises in Chișinău Municipality amounted to 4,827.5 thousand tonnes, accounting for 54.5% of the total volume of goods transported by road in the country. Compared with January–June 2025, the volume increased by 9%.
- The number of passengers transported by buses and minibuses for public use amounted to 42.9 million passengers, increasing by 1.8% compared with the same period of 2025.
- The number of tourists accommodated in collective tourist accommodation facilities in Chișinău Municipality amounted to 193.5 thousand persons, increasing by 23.5% compared with January–June 2025.
