The General Mayor, Ion Ceban, signed the Grant Agreement for the project “Energy Efficiency in Kindergartens of Chișinău”, with a total value exceeding EUR 33 million (approximately MDL 700 million).
The project includes the energy-efficient renovation of approximately 50 kindergartens, with 30 institutions to be rehabilitated during the first phase. The works will include thermal insulation of buildings, replacement of windows and doors, modernization of heating and ventilation systems, upgrading of electrical installations and lighting, installation of photovoltaic panels, and implementation of other energy efficiency measures.
Following the implementation of the project, more than 70% of children in the Municipality of Chișinău will benefit from improved conditions in early education institutions, while energy consumption and maintenance costs will be significantly reduced.
The project is implemented by the Chișinău City Hall in partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P), and the Member States of the European Union.
