During 24–26 February 2026, Mr. Roman Vitiuc, Head of the General Directorate of Economy, Trade and Tourism, is participating in the Management Committee meeting of the People Powered Tourism project, held in Timișoara.
During the meeting, the progress of project implementation is reviewed and the following topics are discussed:

Evaluation by partners of capacity-building activities and the mapping process;

Exploration of the pilot area and activities developed by the Timișoara team;

Budget management and reporting for the previous implementation period;

Project communication and planning of media promotion campaigns;
-
Placemaking in tourism – development of tourism experiences based on local identity.
The total value of the project is 2,538,365 euros, with 80% non-reimbursable financing provided by European Union funds.
Starting from 2025, the Chișinău City Hall is a project partner, actively contributing to the development of participatory and sustainable tourism models.
