On Wednesday, a contract was signed for the completion of works at Chi\u0219in\u0103u\u2019s Wastewater Treatment Plant. The agreement was concluded between S.A. \u201eAp\u0103-Canal Chi\u0219in\u0103u\u201d and the TURBOENERGY POWER & MASS joint venture, selected as the winner following an international procurement procedure.<\/p>\n
The contract is worth more than 170 million lei, and the procurement procedure was conducted in accordance with the rules of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).<\/p>\n
Chi\u0219in\u0103u General Mayor Ion Ceban highlighted the importance of this project for the capital\u2019s environmental infrastructure, recalling the severely deteriorated condition of the plant in 2019 and the unpleasant odours that affected several districts of the city.<\/p>\n
In the following years, efforts were made to maintain the plant\u2019s operation and overcome the obstacles that had prevented the continuation of the works.<\/p>\n
The signing of the new contract marks an essential step towards completing the plant\u2019s modernization, making effective use of the investments made and ensuring the efficient operation of the wastewater treatment system.<\/p>\n
The General Mayor thanked the international partners for their support to Chi\u0219in\u0103u Municipality: the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, the European Union and the Neighbourhood Investment Facility.<\/p>\n
