The tourism development strategy of the municipality of Chisinau<\/strong> is a complex document developed in order to identify the tourist, historical, human, social and economic potential, as well as the opportunities for tourism development of the municipality for the period 2022-2026. This document was developed with the aim of boosting the process of sustainable development, as well as establishing strong points and clear benchmarks for improving the tourist image of the city, creating a unique identity and diversifying the tourist offer. The strategy was developed by the team of the General Directorate of Economy, Trade and Tourism within APL, Chisinau, with the support of the National Association for Inbound and Inland Tourism of Moldova (ANTRIM), with the funding of the Activity to Support Competitiveness in Light Industry and Tourism (USAID Moldova, EDGE).<\/p>\n The strategic objectives of the Strategy derive from the mission and purpose of the document and are based on 3 pillars of development: The document assumes that at the end of 2026, Chisinau will be a recognized European tourist destination, competitive and attractive for investments.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Urban tourism<\/strong> – a tool for city development, solutions that benefit destinations and communities. Tourism is a driving force of urban economies, in this sense, the Mayor General, Ion Ceban and Yang Shuo, secretary general of the World Federation of Tourist Cities, signed the Memorandum of Accession of the city of Chisinau to the World Federation of Tourist Cities, thus the city Chisinau recently became a member of the World Federation of Tourist Cities. The successes already achieved in the field of tourism were mentioned. It is about the creation of the Information Center for Tourists and the Tourist Trolleybus.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Health tourism<\/strong> is a branch of tourism with high potential. Due to the high quality of services offered by health institutions, but also the low price compared to other countries, Moldova is becoming an increasingly popular destination for citizens from abroad, who are looking for health services. Health tourism is very advantageous not only financially. If desired, an individual tourist program is selected for each. This allows not only to get quality care, but also to get to know the main tourist attractions of the city – one of the most beautiful cities in Eastern Europe.
