Mr. Roman VITIUC, head of the General Directorate of Economy, Trade and Tourism, presented at the Economic Forum of the City of Chisinau „Municipal Pilot Program: Start-up for young people and migrants”

The project budget is 10 million lei and aims to stimulate entrepreneurship among young people and migrants in Chisinau Municipality by facilitating the launch and development of sustainable businesses and supporting the creation of jobs.
The municipality aims to facilitate the access of young people and migrant workers to the necessary financial resources, who want to establish or develop a business, by granting a non-refundable financial support in the maximum amount of 200,000 lei.
Within the Program, support will be offered to young people who own a business and have made an investment from credit resources, by compensating the value of the interest paid for the last 24 months in a maximum amount of 100,000 lei. The beneficiaries of the program are: future young entrepreneurs, migrant workers, young investors, young refugees future entrepreneurs, aged between 18-40 years.

Priority areas of the Program:
• businesses that will carry out production activities or provide services;
• businesses that contain innovative activities or propose to implement technological and know-how transfer projects;
• businesses focused on the development of the following fields:
✔the information and communication technology industry
✔electromechanics
✔agro-food industry and HoReCa
✔light industry
✔creative industry
✔ tourism
✔ health and beauty
✔professional, scientific or technical activities
✔energy efficiency
✔agriculture

Financial support for starting the business:
• the amount of the grant is a maximum of 70% of the value of the investment project and will not exceed 200,000 lei for financing the investment project;
• the beneficiary’s contribution will constitute at least 30% of the value of the investment project.

The management and coordination of the Program will be carried out by a Coordinating Council made up of 12 people (6 from the Chisinau Municipal Council and 6 from the Chisinau City Hall, including the committee secretary (without voting rights) and the Program Implementation Unit, which will be made up of 7 people, including: the UIP coordinator, 3 specialists, a business development specialist, a lawyer and an operator.
At the same time, HUBS will be launched for STARTUPS intended for young people in the capital, as well as the creation of incubators that will offer training and consultancy during the duration of the projects.
